SMARTCODEC
On a board smaller than a deck of cards, Energid's smartCodec captures and extreme-compresses video for transmission over an IP network (such as a LAN or the public Internet). Designed especially for mobile and adverse conditions, it delivers robust tele-robotic communications for mobile surveillance, industrial tele-robotics, and consumer tele-robotics applications.
The smartCodec adapts automatically to even abrupt changes in network bandwidth and latency, such as are common in commercial Internet and mobile communications. It adapts in under 60ms and can scale an order of magnitude in bitrate while maintaining smooth video. Its closed-loop optimization prioritizes key data, responds to receiver-end user priorities, and compensates for latency jitter in the network. The hardware encoder can be used with either software or hardware decoding.
