Mobile Robot Tipping Prevention Has Been Added To Energid’s Actin Software Toolkit
Cambridge, Massachusetts (June 2, 2011) — Energid has added tipping control as a new feature for its Actin toolkit. With tipping control, kinematic redundancy in an arm on a mobile base can be used to keep the Center of Gravity (CG) over the center of the wheels, either as a constraint or as an optimization. In addition, should the CG move into a zone the presents a danger of tipping, the arm can be automatically stopped. All this is done while enabling fly-the-end-effector control for the arm.
