Energid Technologies today received a patent covering its 3D machine vision software. The new patent was issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and reflects Energid's continuing research and development on advanced technologies for identifying the type, pose, and geometry of 3D objects in visual imagery. The work leading to this patent was supported by NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense. The patent, No. 7,680,300, "Visual Object Recognition and Tracking," describes an approach for identifying and tracking a 3D object, rigid or articulated, from two-dimensional data such as color video.
