Energid Technologies has been awarded a follow-on Army contract to develop control and perception software for the BEAR robot being developed for TATRC by Vecna Technologies. The robot's mission is to extract injured soldiers from the battlefield and move them to safe ground. The robot has a mobile base, and a humanoid hydraulically actuated torso capable of lifting a 300 pound soldier. This follow-on work will focus on applying Actin, Energid’s robot control and simulation software, and Selectin, Energid’s machine vision software to perform complex grasping tasks with the robot.
