Energid is developing a robotic chemical/bioagent detection and identification system that will directly impact our forces' combat effectiveness and will ensure our forces and our citizens survive chemical/bio-warfare scenarios. Through this project, with our partners, we are integrating multiple cutting edge technologies into a unique combat-ready robotic system. Actin (Energid's robotic manipulator control toolkit), iRobot's PackBot, MesoSystems' bioagent samplers, Alexeter Technologies' bioagent readers/detectors, and Harvard's Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy will be combined with dexterous robotic manipulation capability, vision control, and process automation expertise. Merging these technologies into an easy-to-use intuitive robotic system will allow for quick and safe detection and identification of chemical/bioagents in the field. Our approach represents a significant technical advancement in robotics and chemical/bioagent detection technology with far reaching potential.
