  • Senior Robotics Software Engineer Open or Close

    Energid’s Actin SDK is an advanced robot control and tasking framework built to meet the rigorous requirements of industrial, commercial, collaborative, and consumer robotic systems. As part of Universal Robots (UR), a Teradyne company, the leading supplier of collaborative robots, Energid is well positioned to bring Actin software to the masses.

    As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer, you will be responsible for development, documentation, and testing of software used for robotic control and simulation. The position requires understanding of full software development cycle. Must be self-motivated, requiring little supervision, yet work well with others as part of a team.

    Responsibilities

    ·    Develop production-level software components for robotic systems used in medical and industrial settings
    ·    Create and maintain documentation and unit tests of developed software
    ·    Initial responsibilities will focus on integrating Actin with UR platform
    ·    Implement robotic algorithms to improve Actin SDK and/or robotic solutions to solve customers’ problems.
    ·    Occasional travel (~5-10%, possibly international) may be required
    ·    Fully remote work is possible for this position

    Qualifications and Skills

    ·    5+ years experience in commercial software development (depending on education)
    ·    Expert-level experience in C++ development, profiling, and debugging
    ·    Proficient in Linux, docker, and virtualization
    ·    Knowledgeable in robotics math and algorithms
    ·    Experience in software development for real-time systems
    ·    Familiarity with Python, Java, and JavaScript is a plus
    ·    Knowledge of robot motion/path planning is desirable

    Education

    ·    B.S. or higher in computing, engineering, or related field

    ·    Develop robotic control and simulation algorithms for robotic systems used in medical and industrial settings. Maintain good documentation.
    ·    Implement algorithms in C++
    ·    Occasional travel (~5-10%, possibly international) may be required

    Requirements

    ·    Expert knowledge in manipulator kinematics and dynamics
    ·    Expert knowledge in one or more of the following fields: motion planning, path planning, force control
    ·    Excellent mathematical skills
    ·    Proficient in C++ and knowledgeable in algorithms

    Education

    ·    MS degree in robotics engineering or related field. PhD is preferred.

  • Robotics Research & Innovation Engineer Open or Close

    As a Robotics Research & Innovation Engineer, you will work on challenging robotic projects with both hardware and simulation. You will use your robotic and software experience and knowledge to help customers solve their problems. Must be self-motivated, requiring little supervision, yet work well with others as part of a team.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop production-level software for robotic control and simulation that will be deployed in many fields, including medical, energy, and factory automation.
    • Create and maintain documentation and unit tests of developed software
    • Apply Actin SDK to develop advanced robotic solutions to challenging problems for customers
    • Implement robotic algorithms to improve Actin SDK
    • Occasional travel (~10-15%, possibly international) to support customers may be required
    • Fully remote work is possible for this position

    Qualifications and Skills

    • 5+ years experience in commercial software development (depending on education)
    • Expert-level experience in C++ development, profiling, and debugging
    • Proficient in Linux, docker, and virtualization
    • Knowledgeable in robot kinematics and dynamics algorithms
    • Experience in software development for realtime systems
    • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT or Profinet
    • Knowledge of robot motion/path planning is desirable
